High-fidelity, infinite time constant calibrated pressure apexcardiogram and its correlation with high-fidelity left ventricular pressure.

چکیده
A technique of recording the pressure apexcardiogram by means of a high-fidelity piezoresistive transducer has been developed in our laboratory. It permits the quantification of pressure with which the transducer is applied to the chest wall as well as the pressure changes during a cardiac cycle. In this preliminary report, apexcardiographic pressures were compared with simultaneously recorded high-fidelity left ventricular pressure in 32 patients. There were no significant differences in the timing of the left ventricular systolic upstroke and the "O" point. Peak dP/dt of the apexcardiogram occurred (10± 13 ms) significantly earlier than the intraventricular pressure recordings. Though there

BACKGROUND The instantaneous pressure gradient between the left ventricle and left atrium during systole can be calculated from the mitral regurgitation Doppler velocity curve. The purpose of our study was to determine the accuracy of measuring the time constant of relaxation (TAU) derived from the Doppler mitral regurgitation signal by comparing it with simultaneous high-fidelity left ventricu...

متن کاملTime relation between apex cardiogram and left ventricular events using simultaneous high-fidelity tracings in man.
In 10 patients without left heart valvular disease and having normal function of the left ventricle, the left ventricular apex cardiogram with its first derivative (dA/dt), left ventricular pressure with its first derivative (dP/dt), aortic pressure, electrocardiogram, and phonocardiogram were reocrded simultaneously during cardiac catheterization. The apex cardiographic tracings were obtained ...
متن کاملNon-invasive determination of left ventricular relaxation time constant by Transthoracic Doppler echocardiography.
BACKGROUND Left ventricular (LV) relaxation time constant (Tau) is a relatively load-independent index of diastolic function in the evaluation of heart failure. However, the requirement of high-fidelity intraventricular pressure recording limits its clinical utility. In the present study, we investigated whether Tau could be estimated noninvasively. METHODS Thirty-seven patients indicated for...
